Fill the reservoir and a cotton wick makes that water available to the potting mix at your plant's own pace. One long red flash tells you the tank has hit capacity, or lift the inner pot and fill to the marked fill line inside. When the reservoir runs out, the sensor projects red onto the floor.

This pot is basically plant steroids.
I bought this Thirsty Pot because I’m notoriously bad at keeping things alive. I filled the reservoir, went away for nearly a month, and fully expected to come home to a brown, crunchy stick.
I was dead wrong. I walked back into my apartment and honestly didn't recognize my own plant. It didn’t just survive—it exploded. It’s easily twice the size it was when I left.
If you’re a lazy plant parent or you travel a lot, just buy it.
It works so well it's actually a little bit scary.
